Ponte Ulla is situated in a deep valley. Naturally there was a steep descent to the city and similarly steep ascent on the other side. I had decided not to stay there since there wasn't an albergue and because I had some information that there was a brand new albergue in the hamlet of Capilla de Santiaguino some five kilometers further down the trail.

Looking back from the other side of the valley
The very new and modern albergue is literally located ......nowhere.
There are a couple of farms nearby and you have to walk a couple of kilometers down to the highway to find a bar. Once again I was the only occupant of the albergue. Surprisingly this albergue had seperate dormitories for men and women.
